Well the eerie manner is indeed eerie, straight out of a childhood feeling of apprehension or a garish dream: the menacing sky on a spookily perfect façade Wonderful of course.
The gargoyle is wonderful just because of the strangeness of the object itself. it’s morose expression as it clutches the lamp-post, fading into the wall as it does so.
