Aztec Icons Part 1

Filed under: HDRs, The British Museum — Tags: , — BlacksmithPro @ 01:31

“The Jade” image from yesterday is actually part of this small Aztec exhibit that was on at The British Museum. This time, apart from the third image, I can actually tell you what these are ’cause the descriptions are in the image and I have such huge high res files. This first image is Xiuhtecuhtli, a Fire God who rose form the bowels of the earth provoking outpourings of molten lava from volcanic eruptions. The second image is Chelchiuhtlicue or “Jade Skirt”, a Goddess who features prominently in the codices as a beautiful young woman who representing the purity and preciousness of water.
