British Museum Panorama

I rarely post panoramas on here or anywhere else due to there not being a way to do it that can really show off the content and size of the image in a way that’s user friendly for the viewer. I have a nice little collection of some really nice ones I’ve taken over the years and no way to share them but this one isn’t quite so wide and was shot more specifically to capture what I couldn’t in one shot due to limitations of lenses in my collection so it works for posting. The other two images are the last from this visit to the British Museum, a stairwell statue (I should capture the view from the top of the stairwell looking down at some point) and a nice vase from the asian pottery collection they have. I’ve photographed some of this collection before but only took the single this time to see how the new camera handled shooting through glass, something I don’t love being forced to do but don’t have a choice in when it comes to subject matter here.

Mayan Limestone part 1

I’ve photographed these before in the past but new camera and B/W experimenting means they needed capturing again. These are Mayan Limestone Yaxchilan Lintels (a structural block spanning the space between two vertical columns) depicting blood letting rituals. Two more of these tomorrow.

Mayans

I’ve taken pictures in this room before which houses a small selection of gorgeous relics from the Mayan civilisation. These are two of the statues, medium sized, which are located in the room’s centre.
